2019 Washington Redskins Team Needs

March 23, 2019

As Free Agency has began to slow down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2019 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Washington Redskins Team Needs as they head into the 2019 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.

Washington Redskins Team Needs

Wide Receiver

With the loss of Jamison Crowder, the Redskins WR group is desperately thin. The Redskins may be in a position to get one of the top receiver prospects in the draft with pick 13. If D.K Metcalf slips they should jump at the chance to draft him. If not, N’Keal Harry could be a nice pick for them at the top of the 2nd round.

The Redskins have some band aid options at QB but shouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to draft a QB early in this year’s draft. Should Drew Lock be on the board at 13, he would be a good pick and give them a high ceiling signal caller to build around. Later on, in the draft, they could target someone like Tyree Jackson to develop behind Keenum and Alex Smith.

Interior Offensive Line

Last season the redskins got decimated along the interior. Injuries and lack of depth killed them, and they must address the position this offseason. There are plenty of solid guards in this class capable of becoming quality starters. On day 2, Chris Lindstrom would be an excellent pickup and give them a solid starter for the foreseeable future.

Having lost Preston Smith, the Redskins may look to bolster their outsider linebacker depth chart. Targeting one early may be a struggle and they do have more pressing needs, so day three may be where they try and land someone at edge. Jordan Brailford would be an excellent target for them early on day three and an excellent scheme fit.

Even with the addition of Landon Collins, the Redskins could target a safety who can fill the free safety position alongside Collins along the back end. Landing a rangey safety like Marvell Tell would be a big get for the Redskins on day three and he would give them some depth and upside at the position.
