2020 Atlanta Falcons Team Needs

2020 Atlanta Falcons Team Needs

With Free Agency winding down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2020 NFL Draft. Listed below are the Atlanta Falcons Team Needs as they head into the 2020 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.

2020 Atlanta Falcons Team Needs

Defensive tackle

While the Falcons do have Grady Jarrett who is one of the better defensive tackles in the game, there is no other guy I see as a starter on this roster. Atlanta needs more beef in the middle to help improve the pass rush and let Deion Jones run free and make plays.

Defensive End

It feels like the Falcons have been looking for a pass rusher for a decade. Vic Beasley is gone now, so this becomes even more of a need than it already was. A top flight pass rusher would help every aspect of this defense and could help take some pressure off Tak McKinley.

Cornerback

The Falcons said good bye to long time corner Desmond Trufant this offseason and now need to find somebody to replace him. Can they count on Isaiah Oliver to keep developing and be their number one corner in the future? I’m skeptical of that, but even if he does then Atlanta needs someone opposite of him.

Running back

The Falcons brought in Todd Gurley to potentially fill the starting role after cutting ties with DDevonta Freeman, but at this point in his career I’m not sure his knees will hold up enough to take on a full workload. A work horse back would do a lot for this offense.

Linebacker

Outside of Deion Jones, the linebacking group in Atlanta isn’t very strong. After losing De’Vondre Campbell to free agency it’s extremely thin at the second level of this defense. If they don’t address this in some way then they will be in trouble in 2020.
