With Free Agency winding down it is the perfect time to take a look at the team needs for each team as we get closer to the 2020 NFL Draft. Listed below are the New Orleans Saints Team Needs as they head into the 2020 NFL Draft listed in order of importance.

2020 New Orleans Saints Team Needs

I like the Saints linebacker group, but I’d be lying if I said I didn’t have some questions with them. I don’t think they’re the most athletic or dynamic group and considering age and injury history of these guys I’d like to see them add one more potential starter.

Defensive Tackle

The Saints defensive line is very strong. However, I think the addition of a powerful run stuffing nose tackle would compliment their pass rushers and take them to another level. This could be the difference between a good defense and a great defense.

Wide Receiver

Even after adding Emmanuel Sanders, the Saints could still use another dynamic play maker. With Thomas being an all pro caliber guy on the outside and Sanders playing in the slot, if they can add one more impact pass catcher then they can really capitalize on the window with Drew Brees.

Brees’ career is almost over as a guy who is in his early forties. He is here for the short term, but the team needs to start thinking about the future. If they can start grooming a quarterback of the future then it could keep the championship window open beyond the Brees era.

The Saints lost Eli Apple to free agency, but they still have Janoris Jenkins on the roster. Despite the Saints ability to get the most out of their defensive backs, I think Jenkins can be upgraded. A young corner opposite of Marshon Lattimore could make this an elite secondary.
