The 2020 NFL draft is quickly approaching, but before it kicks off on April 23, free agency will make an impact on every team’s biggest draft needs.
We’ll update this series as free-agent signings trickle in.
Until then, here are the Tennessee Titans’ top needs heading into the 2020 NFL draft.
Quarterback
Logan Woodside is the only quarterback on the roster under contract. There’s speculation the Titans will be all-in on the Tom Brady sweepstakes but even if they land the six-time Super Bowl champion, a young arm is needed for the stability of this team moving forward.
Outside Linebacker
Tennessee has a talented young pass rusher in Harold Landry but as we saw against the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game, they need more than just one guy. While the Titans could target Jadeveon Clowney, theyāll more than likely turn to the draft and take a pass rusher with one of their first two picks.
Cornerback
Logan Ryan was a big-time free agent signing a few years ago and gave the Titans a big, physical cornerback to match up with the league’s more talented wideouts. He’s scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent and will demand a hefty pay day. If he isn’t re-signed, cornerback could become Tennessee’s biggest need.
Offensive Line
The Titans lived off the running game last season and offensive tackle Jack Conklin was a big reason why. He, too, is slated to hit the open market and it’s unlikely they’ll be able to re-sign him with other big-money contracts coming.
Running Back
The heart and soul of the Titans offense was Derrick Henry, but he’s looking for a new contract that will make him one of the highest-paid running backs in the NFL. Tennessee will more than likely meet his demands, but with the recent release of Dion Lewis, a breather-back is needed.
