2020 NFL Mock Draft | Fredrickson 2 Rounds

January 21, 2020

The Mock Draft, the stable of the Pre-Draft Process. Mock Drafting has long been my favorite aspect of the draft process. Its how I got started in the draft game and remains my real bread and butter. Here at NFL Draft Geek this is our calling card and we will be providing you a new mock draft on a weekly basis leading up to the 2020 NFL Draft dropping each Tuesday during the NFL season. For this edition I’ve utilized Tankathon’s draft order which gives us a listing of what the order would be if the season ended today. Let us know what you think of our 2020 NFL Mock Draft whether it’s in the comments below or tweeting at @NFLDraftGeek @DraftLogan

Division Spotlight: NFC South

Carolina Panthers

1st Round QB Justin Herbert,
2nd Round OT Prince Tega Wanogho

The Panther’s draft will largely hinge on the future of Cam Newton. It is widely expected that Newton is done in Carolina and Kyle Allen proved to be no more than a backup level player last year while Cam was injured. Finding their next franchise quarterback will be a huge priority and while Herbert has some flaws, most notably his decision making he has all the tools of a franchise quarterback. A continued upgrade to the offensive line is also necessary. With Greg Little set to man the left side Prince Tega Wanogho would form a solid tackle duo for the Panthers moving forward.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers

1st Round EDGE K’Lavon Chaisson
2nd Round OT Lucas Niang

Tampa Bay has a pretty solid roster but could stand to boost their pass rush. Chaisson is insanely talented possessing a excellent athleticism and a scary burst he is the kind of player that can be move allover a defensive front. While a bit inconsistent Chaisson has the ability to blossom into a perennial Pro Bowl pass rusher. Upgrading the offensive tackle position also is a priority. Donovan Smith has not lived up to his draft slot and if Jameis Winston is ever going to take the next step his protection and the team’s ability to run the ball must improve. Niang possesses a rare mix of length and athleticism that could allow him to become a very good player with some technique refinements.

Atlanta Falcons

1st Round CB Kristian Fulton
2nd Round EDGE Terrell Lewis

The Falcon’s defense was pretty abysmal last season especially in their secondary. Desmond Trufant has been a solid player for the Falcons but cannot seem to stay healthy and outside of him Atlanta’s corners leave a lot to be desired. Kristian Fulton had some rough reps in the national championship game but that is far from the norm for him. Fulton possesses lockdown coverage skills and is one of the top man coverage corners in this class. Every year it seems the Falcons are in need of help along the defensive front. This year is not different. Vic Beasely is a pending free agent and has failed to produce with any amount of consistency. If he is let go finding a suitable rusher opposite Tak McKinley will be necessary. Terrell Lewis would likely be a top 20 player if not for an extensive injury history and could be a steal for the Falcons in the 2nd round.

New Orleans

1st Round iOL Tyler Biadasz

New Orleans has about as complete a roster as there is in the NFL. That said in their playoff loss to the Vikings the Saint’s interior offensive line really struggled. In this scenario the Saints address this issue by going with one of the best players available at his junction in Biadasz the center from Wisconsin. Battle tested with three years of starting experience for the Badgers, Biadasz is a mauler at center who could easily slot in at guard next to last year’s rookie standout center Erik McCoy.
