2021 NFL Mock Draft: Justin Fields remains QB2, but the gap is closing

2021 NFL Mock draft

The calendar has finally flipped to 2021, and let’s be honest, it couldn’t come soon enough. There’s one week left in the 2020 NFL regular season and with a majority of teams already planning for next year, it’s time to start diving deep into 2021 mock drafts.

This is our first mock draft of the new year, and we’ll have a new one every week until the 2021 NFL draft kicks off.

The top of Round 1 will offer little if any drama. At least, not at the first overall pick. It’s going to be Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence, and it’s a selection that will instantly change the short- and long-term outlook for the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The real fun gets going at the second pick, where the New York Jets have a big decision to make at quarterback. Is Sam Darnold the guy? Can they pass on a player like Justin Fields or Zach Wilson?

Let’s find out:

1. Jacksonville Jaguars

Trevor Lawrence, QB, Clemson

-This one’s chalk. Lawrence in the best quarterback — and player — in the 2021 NFL draft. He’s the best quarterback — and player — to enter the league in a very long time. The long-suffering Jaguars fans won’t be in pain for much longer.
