The 2022 Senior Bowl is in the books following the National Team’s victory over the American Team, 20-10, in what ended up being a showcase of two defenders who, at the beginning of the week, were something of an afterthought when it came to players to watch in Mobile, Alabama.
The Senior Bowl MVP went to Oklahoma defensive lineman Perrion Winfrey, who was one of the biggest stars to emerge from the three days of Senior Bowl practices. He was unblockable in all three practice sessions and carried that momentum into the game.

Winfrey ended his afternoon with two sacks, including this punishing hit on Western Kentucky quarterback Bailey Zappe.
Ed Ingram lost a rep this week in practice. He lost to Perrion Winfrey. That’s 2 sacks for Winfrey today and just a hell of a week for him at the Senior Bowl. pic.twitter.com/JYEvQ6RqaT

Winfrey entered the 2022 Senior Bowl as a mid-Day-2 prospect but his near-perfect week is likely to jumpstart serious first-round consideration for a player who was once considered one of the top JUCO prospects in the country.
