It feels like an eternity ago that the Philadelphia Eagles were the kings of the NFL. The 2017 Super Bowl champs had one of the league’s best young quarterbacks and a head coach who was the envy of the NFL.
Now, just three seasons later, that young quarterback has been replaced by a rookie second-round pick and that coach, Doug Pederson, is toast.
NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero is reporting that the Pederson era is over in Philadephia.

Pederson came under harsh criticism after his decision to pull QB Jalen Hurts in the Eagles’ season finale against the Washington Football Team, a decision that ultimately cost Philadelphia the game and secured a better draft pick — No. 6 overall — in the 2021 NFL Draft. It was a full-blown tank-job on primetime television.
Pederson’s tenure in Philly lasted five seasons and a 42-37-1 record. The Eagles join a large list of teams searching for a new coach, including the Jaguars, Jets, Falcons, Texans, and Lions.
