Grading the Cleveland Browns’ 2020 NFL Draft

Cleveland Browns 2020 NFL draft

It’s been such a bizarre couple of years for the Cleveland Browns. After seemingly hitting on Baker Mayfield with the first overall pick of the 2018 NFL Draft, his regression, combined with former coach Freddie Kitchen’s inability to control his roster, led to yet another housecleaning in Cleveland this offseason.

But there’s still a ton of talent on this roster and with a strong 2020 draft class, a nice rebound could be in the cards this season.

2020 NFL Draft Class

1.10: Jedrick Wills, OT, Alabama
2.44: Grant Delpit, S, LSU
3.88: Jordan Elliott, DT, Missouri
3.97: Jacob Phillips, LB, LSU
4.115: Harrison Bryant, TE, FAU
5.160: Nick Harris, C, Washington
6.187: Donovan Peoples-Jones, WR, Michigan

Best Pick: Harrison Bryant, TE, FAU

FAU's Harrison Bryant drafted by Cleveland Browns - South Florida ...

Bryant slipped to the fourth round because of his pedestrian performance at the NFL Combine. It was a big mistake teams that chose to pass on him; Bryant profiles as a legitimate weapon as a receiver who is tailor-made for today’s passing game.

Bryant (6-5, 243) plays faster than his 4.73 40-time and will find his way on the field this season even with Austin Hooper on the roster. In fact, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Bryant develop into the primary pass-catcher at the position by the time the season ends.
