Here’s where Malik Willis stood out at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine

The 2022 NFL Scouting Combine is already in the rear-view mirror but its impact on the 2022 NFL Draft will remain significant. This is especially true in this year’s quarterback class, where a true QB1 has yet to be determined.

Liberty gunslinger Malik Willis is one of several quarterbacks hoping to become that guy by the time draft weekend rolls around. His draft stock was on the rise after the 2022 Senior Bowl, and according to ESPN’s Todd McShay, it’s reaching new heights after his performance at the Scouting Combine.

Willis didn’t participate in the athletic testing — he didn’t run a 40-yard dash or do any of the other timed drills. But he did showcase his trademark strong arm and better-than-expected accuracy in the throwing portion of the workout. Where he really starred, however, was in the meetings with teams. McShay said Willis was a stud.

“With Malik Willis, the one thing that really stood out, almost every single person I talked to in the league, and I asked a lot of them about Malik specifically… they said that his interview was one of the best,” McShay said Monday. “Not just the character and the charisma that he has… but also the football intelligence.”
