Los Angeles Rams Team Needs

2020 Los Angeles Rams Team Needs

It was a busy off season for the Rams as they reworked their defense trading away Alec Olgetree and Robert Quinn but traded for Marcus Peters and Aqib Talib and then signed Ndamukong Suh. With the 2018 NFL Draft just around the corner here is a look at the Los Angeles Rams Team Needs heading into the draft.

Los Angeles Rams Team Needs

Wide Receiver

The loss of Sammy Watkins will need to be replaced by another outside the hashes target. Look for the team to continue to look for some competition in the free agent market to go along with a mid-round draft choice to give Jared Goff more weapons to continue his rise up the quarterback ranks.

Linebacker

For a top defensive unit, the linebacker group is a bit of a glaring hole after the trade of Alec Ogletree. Finding another rangy interior linebacker who can captain the young unit should be a top of the draft priority.

Offensive Tackle

One of the biggest reasons for the offensive turnaround in 2017 was the addition of Andrew Whitworth at the left tackle position. If the team plans to continue the success finding his eventual replacement and current depth will be a priority on draft day.

Safety

With Lamarcus Joyner on the franchise tag finding an insurance policy in case he departs next season will be a top need. Not to mention an improvement is needed next to him in 2018 so knocking out both needs with one draft pick would be another wise move for a team on the verge of taking over the NFL.

Edge Rusher

The team shipped off Robert Quinn this offseason and will be on the hunt for a dominating young edge rusher in the top of the draft. Adding this type of player to a defensive unit already stacked with playmakers sounds too good to not come true.

Guard

Roger Saffold has been the constant talk of replacement in the starting lineup for years and the Rams could look to make the change this offseason. If not depth along the interior of the offensive line will be needed to keep Todd Gurley running all over NFL defenses.

Defensive Tackle

The combination of Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh gives the Rams one of the most feared defensive lines in the entire league. While Michael Brockers and Domminque Easley are along there to provide depth, Suh is only on a one year deal and could be just a rental player meaning they could look to add some youth to the group.
