The LSU Tigers have had quite the year. They finished the 2019 season 15-0, won the National Championship and the starting quarterback, Joe Burrow, won the Heisman Trophy and became the first overall pick of the 2020 NFL Draft.

But the Tigers’ draft success didn’t end there. A total of 14 players from LSU were selected, setting a new NFL draft record for the number of picks from one program.

Here are all the LSU players who heard their names called:

First Round:

LB K’lavon Chaisson (Jaguars, No. 20), WR Justin Jefferson (Vikings, No. 22), LB Patrick Queen (Ravens, No. 28) and RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire (Chiefs, No. 32).

Later rounds:

Also selected from LSU: S Grant Delpit (Browns), CB Kristian Fulton (Titans), OL Damien Lewis (Seahawks), OL Lloyd Cushenberry (Broncos), LB Jacob Phillips (Browns), OL Saahdiq Charles (Redskins), DT Rashard Lawrence (Cardinals), LS Blake Ferguson (Dolphins) and TE Stephen Sullivan (Seahawks).

One of the more surprising results from the 2020 draft was the Kansas City Chiefs’ selection of Edwards-Helaire in the first round. It’s not that Edwards-Helaire wasn’t a highly-graded prospect; instead, fellow running backs Like D’Andre Swift and J.K. Dobbins entered draft weekend with higher grades from most analysts. Both were drafted in Round 2.

The Minnesota Vikings’ selection of Jefferson is one of the best fits of Round 1. Arguably the most pro-ready receiver in the class, Jefferson will be tasked with filling the void created by the Stefon Diggs trade earlier in the offseason. He’ll be a high-volume target as a rookie, and as he showed for LSU last season, he’s up for the task.

It’s safe to assume a rebuild is coming for LSU in 2020. They’ll still be competitive and there’s a chance several of their young players will develop and breakout in 2020 much like Burrow did in 2019. But it’s hard to lose this much talent and not be impacted the following season.
