The 2019 NFL draft is a hard one to predict for analysts producing mock drafts at this time of year. With so much talent among the 10 best prospects in the class, the challenge to peg which player will be the No. 1 overall pick is real.

According to the Draft Wire’s Luke Easterling, that spot belongs to Alabama’s Quinnen Williams.

“Nick Bosa is the odds-on favorite here,” Easterling wrote, “but the Cards already have one of the league’s best edge rushers in Chandler Jones. What they need is a dominant, disruptive force for the interior of their defensive line, and Williams is the perfect fit.”

Williams is one of six defenders Easterling has going in the top 10 of his NFL mock draft. In fact, only quarterbacks Dwayne Haskins and Kyler Murray are non-defensive players chosen in the top eight.

Interestingly, Murray comes off the board seventh to the Jaguars. The Heisman Trophy winner has a dynamic skill set as a strong-armed passer and legitimate back-breaker as a runner and would be a really fun player in Jacksonville’s offense. In fact, if he has anything close to a Russell Wilson-like impact in the NFL, the Jaguars would quickly become one of the AFC’s toughest outs.
