Scouting Report
Skyy Moore Scouting Report
Physically, Skyy Moore is a compact 5’10” with a frame that’s more like a running back than wide receiver; has very good strength through his route and after the catch … Athletically, Moore has above-average twitch and juice off the line of scrimmage; his footwork is quick and efficient and freezes defensive backs, giving him an advantage early in his route … Moore’s athleticism is evident after the catch too; he has good hip flexibility and wiggle in the open field and maintains that running back appearance with the ball in his hands … Moore is a quality route-runner who makes up for his lack of length with very good first-step quickness and snap into his breaks; he excels on slant patterns and quick breaking routes that take advantage of his initial burst … Moore lacks the physical stature to be a jump-ball target but he possesses the necessary toughness to win in contested situations … While not a third-level field-flipper, Moore’s field speed projects favorably as a receiver who will be more than capable of ripping off explosive gains in the NFL … Moore’s mental toughness works in the run game too; he seeks out contact and is an asset as a blocker downfield … Overall, Skyy Moore profiles as a quality slot receiver in the NFL who also has enough physicality to his game to play outside … His skill set is similar to former Detroit Lions receiver Golden Tate, who has a long and productive NFL career … Moore’s strong showing at the NFL Scouting Combine thrust him into the day-two range and he’ll be a fantastic late-second, early-third round value.
