The offensive tackle trade market has depreciated quite a bit this offseason. First, it was the Dolphins acquiring former 2020 first-round pick Isaiah Wilson from the Titans for a seventh-round pick, and now it’s the Patriots landing Raiders offensive tackle Trent Brown for a 2022 fifth-rounder.

The Patriots will also receive a 2022 seventh-round pick in the deal.
Brown signed a four-year, $66 million deal with the Raiders in 2019 but has appeared in just 16 games over the last two seasons.
The trade marks the second stint in New England for Brown, where he starred as the starting left tackle on the team’s 2018 Super Bowl squad. It all but takes the Patriots out of the first-round offensive tackle conversation at No. 15 overall, too. While there haven’t been many mock drafts with New England selecting an offensive lineman, the acquisition of Brown is a good get — assuming he’s physically and mentally ready to play — and will push offensive tackle down the Patriots’ list of draft needs.
