REPORT: Houston defensive end Payton Turner could go in first round

ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter is on top of his game in the hours leading up to the 2021 NFL Draft. First, it was his report of reigning NFL MVP Aaron Rodgers informing the Green Bay Packers that he does not want to return to the team. Incredible.

Then, albeit not nearly as exciting, Schefter shared some NFL Draft intel about Houston defensive end Payton Turner, who finished the 2020 college season with 10.5 tackles for loss and five sacks.

According to Schefter, Turner is trending as a potential first-round pick.

Turner has long been considered a quality Day-2 prospect, but as Schefter noted, there aren’t many high-end edge players in this year’s class. We’re going to have some surprise names climb the board, including Turner.
