WATCH: Every pass from Ohio State QB Justin Fields vs. Nebraska

October 29, 2020

Ohio State quarterback Justin Fields is considered the favorite to be the second quarterback off the board behind Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence in the 2021 NFL draft, and to be honest, there shouldn’t be much debate about it either. If this was a typical draft year, Fields would be considered the best prospect available. But there’s that Lawrence guy, who may be the best quarterback prospect to come along since Andrew Luck.

While players certainly want that badge of honor of being the first overall pick, Fields won’t wait long to hear his name called on draft weekend. In fact, I’d be shocked if he wasn’t the second overall pick behind Lawrence assuming he stays healthy and the bottom doesn’t fall out from under his season.

Check out his ridiculous season debut against Nebraska on Saturday, which was broken down by every pass and run in this video:

Fields completed a remarkable 20-of-21 passes for 276 yards and two scores and added another 54 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

His traits have been compared to Cam Newton, which is pretty fair despite his smaller frame.

Fields is a franchise quarterback prospect, even if he isn’t the best one in this year’s class.
