WATCH: Trey Lance has average outing in lone 2020 performance

North Dakota State quarterback Trey Lance is widely considered the third-best quarterback prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft behind Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields.

Lance took the field for the first and likely only time Saturday against Central Arkansas in what’s been dubbed a showcase game for him in light of the COVID-19 pandemic and cancellation (or rescheduling) of most of the 2020 college football season.

Lance finished the game 15-of-30 for 149 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. The turnover is noteworthy; Lance didn’t throw a pick all year in 2019.

Where Lance really excelled was on the ground. He ran for 143 yards and two scores.
