Week 2 College Football Viewing Guide

September 8, 2017

A tradition at NFL Draft Geek is to provide the readers with a guide to the perfect College Football Viewing experience. In addition to our College Football Scouting Guide we have your Saturday Scouting covered. Listed below are the top games at each time slot for games Thursday through Sunday and a brief explanation why you should watch that game.

Saturday September 9th

Early Game

Wake Forest Demon Deacons at Boston College Eagles on ACCN at Noon CST

Why I should Watch: This game isn’t going to be a must watch for many but the game does provide us with two different edge rushers that you’ll be hearing quite a bit about come draft time. Boston College’s Harold Landry lead the nation with 22 sacks in 2017 and is looking for another strong year to push him into the Top 10. Wake Forest’s Duke Ejiofor isn’t well known but his ability to win with his hands separate him from most pass rushers.

Afternoon Game

Pittsburgh Panthers at Penn State Nittany Lions on ABC at 2:30 CST

Why I should Watch: The second year of this renewed rivalry is what’s good about college football. As for NFL Draft prospects it gets no better than watching Penn St RB Saquan Barkley. Barkley is one of the best prospects in this class and is coming off a dominant 172 yard performance against Akron and is looking to continue that against a much tougher Pittsburgh team. This game also gives us a nice prospect battle between TE Mike Gesicki and FS Jordan Whitehead.

Primetime Game

Auburn Tigers at Clemson Tigers on ESPN at 6:00 CST

Oklahoma Sooners at Ohio State Buckeyes on ABC at 6:30 CST

Why I should Watch: With two (or 3 if you count USC vs Stanford) high profile games it very hard to pick which game to watch. Your best best is to flip back and forth or having a two screen set up. Both match ups give you several prospect battles and the winner of each game should put that team in the driver seat for the College Football Playoff.

Late Game

Boise State Broncos at Washington State Cougars on ESPN at 9:30 CST

Why I should Watch: We all know about Boise State and their role within college football which means they’ll give Washington State and even match up. This also gives us another opportunity to watch Washington State QB Luke Falk to play against a tough defense and show what he has.
